More about my background, inspirations and qualifications:
I specialise in nutrition, naturopathy and functional medicine for women’s health. My own health journey became the catalyst for what I do now, as it revealed that the holistic approach which includes nutrition can transform health and change lives!
Originally from Warsaw/Poland, I grew up surrounded by discussions about health and the aroma of herbs drying in my family kitchen. My own interest in health developed when, after travel in China, I ended up in hospital having investigations for a series of gut issues. Little attention was given to my diet, despite suspicions of an inflammatory bowel disease. I also used to suffer from heavy periods, asthma and eczema. This was years before nutritional therapy and even probiotics were established. I dived into any research I could find, devised my own nutritional treatment plan and witnessed my whole body begin to rebalance.
The births of my children reignited my interest in health and nutrition. Wanting to be healthy for my family and to provide my children with the best nutrition for their life-long health, I made the decision to study Nutritional Therapy and Naturopathy at the London-based College of Naturopathic Medicine. It was challenging to study while mothering young babies but I loved my course and graduated with top grades.
My absolute passion lies in supporting women through a whole-person holistic approach. In my clinical experience I’ve observed that all symptoms and conditions can be minimised and even reversed given the right support. Health symptoms, to me, are vital messages from the mind and body – my role is to decipher these messages and give you practical and simple tools for healing.
I am committed to supporting women through pivotal life transitions, especially, pregnancy and perimenopause. During my work with hundreds of women I have observed that these are key windows of opportunity for healing. Any work done to optimise mother’s health and microbiome prior to pregnancy will influence the health of up to four future generations. Any health improvements done prior or during perimenopause may help prevent even the most common symptoms and will empower women to come out on “the other side” feeling ready to begin the new chapter in her life. I feel honoured and excited to be part of making the world a healthier place.
My approach integrates both Western naturopathic medicine and traditional wellness practices. Having studied with traditional healers, wisdom keepers and midwives in Asia, and trained under alternative medicine doctors – I incorporate this wisdom into my treatment plans when appropriate.
Beyond nutritional recommendations, my treatment plans may include supplements, tissue salts and homeopathy, lifestyle interventions, flower essences, herbs and adaptogens.
Backed by scientific research. I practice Functional Medicine and have completed extensive training with the Kharrazian Institute in USA specialising in Hashimoto’s, diabetes, autoimmunity, neuro-inflammation and gut health. I am also additionally certified by NTEC to provide Nutritional Therapy to those affected by cancer. I have also completed post-graduate training on vaginal health with dr Moira Bradfield.
I work with all the leading laboratories in the UK and offer functional testing – the tests which I order and interpret most are DUTCH hormones, GI360 stool test, vaginal microbiome analysis and Cyrex arrays for autoimmunity. As a naturopath, I am also skilled at interpreting faces, the tongue and nails.
Other training includes: birth doula with Dr Odent, holistic midwifery with Robin Lim, breastfeeding support with NCT. My passion for supporting women extends to women circles which I have been facilitating both in Bali and in Hampshire for many years. I have also created wellness elixirs and food based supplements for new mothers in Bali.
I am an active member of BANT, CNHC and ANP in the UK.
