Choose beautiful

My recent article “Motherhood and Cellulite” seemed to be a catalyst for so many interesting dialogues with women who wanted to share their thoughts and feelings about self-acceptance and beauty with me. I had recently had a conversation with a woman who holds a special place in my heart. Like many other women, she never even considered she might be beautiful. I asked her if she thought her friends were beautiful. Yes, she told me, they all are.  So we talked about how knowing another person deeply, accepting them as they are, may give us a glimpse into their true self, and we begin to see our friends’ real beauty. What would happen, I asked, if you loved and accepted yourself this much? What if you loved yourself as much as you love your friends? Would you see yourself as beautiful?

A thought provoking short film “Choose beautiful” revealed that when women around the world were asked to choose to walk through doors marked “beautiful” and “average”, as many as 96% of women chose “average”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DdM-4siaQw

The ritual described in “Motherhood and Cellulite” can help bring more self love, glow and acceptance to each woman willing to embrace it for 21 days of more.

With love
