Wellness and nutrition during pregnancy and the 4th trimester

I just love working with pregnant mothers and being part of the magic of creating a new life and becoming a new mother. It is the reason why I re-trained to become a Nutritional Therapist to add to my passion for birth and breastfeeding support. Part of the magic is that so much is still possible. This is when we can detoxify the breasts for healthiest breastmilk, when the maternal gut and vaginal microbiomes can be optimised –   mothers are truly the custodians of microbiomes and we need to make sure that the healthiest species and strains are passed on to our babies so that they have the foundation of health for life (and help prevent food allergies, diabetes, obesity, coeliac disease, asthma…the list is still growing).  We can minimise the mother’s exposure to microbiome disruptors some of which are natural and therefore considered healthy. This is the time when we optimise every aspect of the mother’s health which in itself can support healthy pregnancy and healthy baby, and help prevent what I see so often in my practice – maternal postnatal depletion. How many of us mothers felt exhausted and just run down 5, 10 even 20 years after giving birth? We can prevent this, and when the mothers are well and supported, their entire lives and their children can blossom.

If you are pregnant, do come to my talk on March 15, 11-12:30 in Petersfield, UK. I have so much to share, and I plan to go beyond the outdated and often confusing guidelines to provide evidence-based lifestyle and nutritional recommendations for a healthy pregnancy and optimal development for your baby.

I will also talk about:

  • Best foods to have in pregnancy and what to avoid
  • Essential nutrients needed to grow a healthy baby
  • Gestational Diabetes and tests
  • The microbiome for the birth and beyond
  • Caesarean birth and the practice of seeding
  • Thyroid health and why it matters in pregnancy
  • How to avoid toxins in pregnancy and why
  • What and how to eat in the 4th trimester to replenish yourself, rebuild energy, and to make the most nutritious milk for your baby

There will be an opportunity to ask questions and connect with other pregnant mothers.

I look forward to meeting you there ⭐
